This was it, folks. This was a big one.
Ennis Rakestraw was the first recruit many of us heard of after Eli Drinkwitz took the position as Missouri’s head coach. Drinkwitz and the holdovers from Barry Odom’s defensive staff locked in on the Texas corner early, and doggedly pursued him even as schools like Texas and Alabama jumped in late. And despite his proximity to Austin and despite calling Alabama his, “dream school,” Drinkwitz’s sales pitch worked.
Ennis Rakestraw is going to be a Missouri Tiger.

It’s not hard to see why Rakestraw is coveted by schools like Texas and Alabama. He’s not the biggest corner in the world, but man is he strong. He’s an excellent tackler and always puts himself in a good position to make plays on the ball. He’s not overly physical, often choosing to use his speed and positioning to break up plays. He just appears to be a really smart, really sound corner who could develop into a bulldog cover guy. He never gets shaken, and he’s always finding a way to make a play.
What they’re saying:
Rakestraw was HS teammates with Mizzou safety Stacy Brown, his visit host.

“He was telling me that everybody’s cool," Rakestraw told @TheAthleticCFB the other day. "Everybody’s nice. He was telling me they’re really like that and they really care about you no matter what.”
Ennis Rakestraw commits to #Mizzou over Alabama and Texas. HUGE get for Eli Drinkwitz
