In the words of Jon Rothstein: “This. Is. March.”
The Mizzou men’s basketball team has two more games before postseason play kicks off, but the Mizzou women are right in the thick of it.
The Tigers finished up their regular season on Sunday, dropping to 8-21 after a road game in Alabama. It wasn’t for a lack of production from two of its best players, though.
(Aijha) Blackwell recorded her third consecutive 20-point game, and her fourth consecutive double-double with team-highs in points (23) and rebounds (11). The Tiger freshman also led Mizzou in assists (four) and blocks (two)... (Amber) Smith recorded her sixth 20-point game of the season with 20 points and three assists.
This week will represent the last of the women’s season, assuming they don’t run the table in Greenville. It’s been a disappointing year, but there’s a lot of hope for the future in players like Blackwell and Hayley Frank.
#Mizzou will be the No. 11 seed in the 2020 SEC Tournament and will open up against Ole Miss on Wednesday, March 4.
