Welcome back, Tiger fans to another episode of Before the Box Score with Nate Edwards and Brandon “BK” Kiley. The crew returns to take a look at some of the positive momentum that actually playing football in the fall is gaining, and yes— we are excited, albeit a bit skeptical.

They also take a look at recruiting, with a focus on the recruiting hotbed in Florida. Mizzou has had a mixed bag with recruiting out of the state of Florida and given Mizzou’s most recent Floridaman commit, it seems fitting to take a look at the state and how Mizzou is attacking it on the recruiting trail. That and much more, so let’s get to it.

:30 - 16:36: Welcome back! In a recent turn of events, Nate and BK have some optimism that we will actually have some football in the fall. How about that?! There is a definite debate with good points to be made on each side, but will they have a season is a different question. We could be seeing players returning to practice soon! (fingers crossed)

16:37 - 22:52: It’s commitment analysis time! Mizzou picked up a commitment from one Davion Sistrunk out of Florida after the last show. Let’s talk a little bit about him. It’s good to be getting a commit from outside the state of Missouri. The stats on this guy goes to show that this defensive staff really likes long athletes at corner, or maybe just guys 6 feet and above in general, then get them on campus and move ‘em around the 5 positions as needed. There’s also a quick nod to verbal commit Ryan Hoerstkamp who was recently offered by the likes of Alabama(!!!). That’s two wins for Mizzou vs. Alabama if you’re keeping score, listeners.

22:53 - 51:19 So Missouri has their Florida-man. However, over the past 8 years, fans have seen the performance of Mizzou players from the sunshine state as a net negative— it’s just not worth it. What gives? Well, if you look into it, as our hosts have extensively, that would actually be a pretty fair assessment! BUT, let’s dive in a little deeper on a piece Nate is releasing next week.
