NCAA Football: Tennessee at Missouri Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

We’re back with another Rock M Nation Podcasts episode of Before The Box Score with Nate Edwards and Brandon Kiley. Since Nate and BK have been gone, Coach Drink and his staff have been on an absolute RUN of commitments. It’s been fun to watch, right?

They also dive into more opponent previews and scholarship math, because who doesn’t love counting to 81?

Let’s get to it.

Episode Breakdown:

:15 - 16:55: Coach Drinkwitz is on FIRE. It kind of feels like Drink is giving everyone a look into what SEC recruiting could be like, and that has been fun. With Drink’s recruiting, every metric says it is some of the best Mizzou has seen in the Rivals era. A lot of the question marks about Drinkwitz as a recruiter seem to be getting some answers and Mizzou fans should be happy.

16:56 - 28:12: Time for scholarship math! Mizzou is at 82 and they need to be at 81. Nate and BK talk about how Mizzou can get there and ICYMI, Nate wrote about this topic here. There is also a larger point on recruiting misses and a little bit of scholarship mismanagement people should notice.

28:13 - 45:37: Onto the Opponent Previews, with BYU and Georgia! After Mizzou takes on Tennessee, they hit the road to play BYU for a swing game. It really helps when you win your swing games, and this game could be at a make or break point in the year. Win and you could see a successful season happening. Lose and.... it could be souring.

45:38 - 57:55: After BYU, MU faces Georgia. While the 2013 win was a lot of fun, this season doesn’t look like a potential repeat. Georgia is retooling a bit, but they are still very good. Georgia is probably going to be better than Mizzou, but take a listen anyway and find out why!

57:56 - END: Final thoughts: how about some positivity?! Eli Drinkwitz and his staff are doing an excellent job selling Mizzou and this program. Everyone should enjoy it and cherish it because it is a lovely sight to see.
