A new season of Dive Cuts with Sam Snelling and Matthew Harris is finally here after much anticipation! That of course means new intro music! Also, it is no longer branded as the cocktail hour, but that doesn’t mean we cannot share what we are drinking!
Anyways, Sam and Matt are looking ahead to a potential season in 2020-21, despite it being up in there with pretty much everything else these days. Mizzou has a range of outcomes for how this season it could go, and many think boom or bust in this season that is sure to be unlike any other season.
Also, some recruiting nuggets because who doesn’t love recruiting?
Let’s dive in.
Episode Breakdown:
1:00 - 33:00: There’s no cocktail hour intro to start this podcast! It’s Season 4 of Dive Cuts which means it is time to look ahead to the “upcoming” 2020-21 season. Let’s start with some recruiting nuggets! Sam and Matt dive into what has worked in recruiting and what hasn’t as well as developing talent once the recruits step foot on campus.
33:01 - 47:35: Some of the criticisms around the lack of recent success is not always warranted because of health. It’s important to remember when looking at Cuonzo Martin’s tenure so far. With health and continuity they should be a solid NCAA Tournament team. There’s hope! As the season gets closer, there will be plenty of roster deep dives for you, but this is some solid ground work to get your basketball thinking cap on.
47:36 - 51:48: What if the season doesn’t tip until January? May Madness?
51:49 - END: Final thoughts AND Sam and Matt answer a listener question about which SEC coach would win a royal rumble if one were to take place?
