We’re back with another episode of Dive Cuts with Sam and Matt.
Since we last talked, Matt has been in the Smokey Mountains and ALL KINDS of recruiting news broke looses. So we deep dive into the new commitments in Kaleb Brown and Sean Durugordon, their strengths, weaknesses, and how they fit into the roster. We also get into how these two commitments impact the rest of the class, and where Mizzou is likely to go from here.
Commitments are fun, but they need to help Cuonzo Martin and the Tigers win basketball games. How will the talent coming in boost the Martin tenure at Mizzou?
Let’s Dive in.
Episode Breakdown:
1:15 - 13:45: Welcome back from the Smokey Mountains, Matt! To welcome you back, just about the entire recruiting board has been cleared out! Missouri’s class has expanded by 2 members since we last talked. Kaleb Brown (younger sibling of Kobe Brown) has committed to Mizzou. What’s the report on him?
13:46 - 20:00: Sean Durugordon also committed last week and the Queens native has a giant wingspan. We’ll look at what kind of player Sean might be for the Tigers once he is on campus and what his ceiling might be.
20:01 - 48:50: The upcoming class is one that looks like they could fit what Martin and Co. would like to do and it has a chance to be that foundational class much like the Denmon/Kim English class (remember those times?). There is still work to be done, but it’s trending that way.
48:51 - END: This staff has not won enough battles and for all of the good things Cuonzo Martin has done, this is a results oriented business. Will the results start to come? Final thoughts wrap it all up AND Sam feels more confident about basketball happening, so there’s that.
