So, that was a strange, albeit fun, day, right?
Early this morning, Eli Drinkwitz teased us (as he is known to do) with some potentially good news...

Oh man! Today is gonna be a good day!
...and while we joked on Twitter that Drinkwitz’s excitement may have been food-related, we quickly got some vague confirmation of what he had been hinting.
Dave Matter first reported — and as anyone can now confirm — that top JUCO cornerback prospect JaDarrius Perkins is currently enrolled at Mizzou as a General Studies major. Perkins has been a longtime target of Missouri’s, though he spent much of 2020 publicly committed to Oregon. He decommitted late in the year, however, and his recruitment went quiet. On Wednesday, his recruitment officially ended in dramatic fashion, with his commitment and enrollment.

Get to know: JaDarrius Perkins
Hometown: Hattiesburg, MS
Previous School: Gulf Coast C.C.
Position: CB
Ht/Wt: 6’2”, 190 lbs
Rivals Ranking: 5.7, 3-star
247Composite Ranking: 0.8860, 3-star
Total announced offers: 37
Offers to note: Auburn, Mississippi State, Oregon
We should always remember that highlight videos aren’t real — they’re selected plays that show off the best a player has to offer. It feels necessary to point that out here because, WOW, does Perkins have a splashy highlight reel. You can feel every inch of his 6’2” frame here, as he’s constantly disrupting plays with his size. But without knowing his full measurables, it also feels like Perkins is freaky athletic. He almost never gets beat and has great lateral agility, sticking to his man with relative ease.
He also appears to have somewhat of a nasty, flashy streak in him. That’s not a bad thing out of a corner, especially one playing against some of the top receivers in the country in the SEC. Perkins should immediately have a shot to contribute, making for an exciting secondary for years to come.
What they’re saying:
Jadarrius Perkins, one of the top junior college cornerback targets, is listed in Mizzou's online student directory. Oregon, Mississippi State have also been involved in his recruitment.
