Welcome back to another episode of Dive Cuts with Sam Snelling and Matthew Harris. It was an up and down week for Mizzou basketball as the game against Tennessee did not go as planned for the Tigers, leaving some worried about what the rest of the season was going to look like.
Then Mizzou traveled to Arkansas on Saturday and picked up a very solid road win against the undefeated Razorbacks, so such is life in College Basketball. What we think we know is that this is a good Mizzou basketball team and a 1-1 week is nothing to scoff at! Sam and Matt offer their takeaways as well as what the next week holds for the Tigers as they are set to face Mississippi State and LSU. Let’s dive in.
Episode Breakdown:
:15 - 26:24: Happy New Year! Our Missouri Tigers are coming off a bad performance against Tennessee, followed by a nice bounce back win at Arkansas to take the bad taste out of everyone’s mouth. Let’s discuss both games and what they could mean for the Tigers as the season progresses.
26:25 - 32:42: Arkansas plays Tennessee on Wednesday so we will get to see what each team Missouri has played is made of pretty fast, which is nice. Arkansas had a weak non-conference schedule, so this will be a good test for Mizzou fans to see who Arkansas actually is. Sam and Matt also look at some other teams around the league as everyone is still trying to figure out which teams are the contenders.
32:43 - 41:50: Missouri plays Mississippi State on Tuesday and they are better than Sam and Matt predicted they would be this year (so far). What type of challenge awaits Missouri?
41:51 - 58:00: Mizzou also plays LSU this week as they come to town on Saturday. Let’s preview that game and Sam would like to remind everyone he does not like LSU (neither does this editor). Also their style of play is not fun to watch.
58:01 - END: Hopefully Mizzou ends this week with a 2-0 record, but a split isn’t the worst thing to happen. Some final thoughts before Sam and Matt wrap up and they will see you all next week. The recording plan is to stick to getting a podcast out early in the week, so plan accordingly!
