Welcome back Tiger Fans to another episode of Before the Box Score with Brandon Kiley and Aaron Dryden. With Nate still on paternity leave, BK and Aaron talk what is happening in the world of Mizzou Football and even in the offseason, there’s always news!
BK and Aaron talk some recruiting news and the transfer portal, as Mizzou became a BIG winner from that this week. Also, in other news... it looks like a new DC will be coming to CoMo as Ryan Walters is heading to Illinois to be their DC. Who should replace him? Let’s get to it.
Episode Breakdown:
:15 - 7:24: There’s news to be talked about! Let’s start on the transfer news as Mookie Cooper has decided to commit to Mizzou after being at Ohio State last year.
7:25 - 14:00: Seniors are electing to return for an extra year, giving the roster a big boost. Almost all of the ones you wanted to see back will be back and that is going to be huge for improving the depth this year.
14:01 - 18:22: Given the decision of Mookie Cooper, it is important to talk about the receivers. What does that rotation look like next year? Who is going to take another step in year two under Eli Drinkwitz and his offense?
18:23 - 28:30: It’s NEVER too early to look at 2022 recruiting and Mizzou has some offers out there to some people of note. Let’s get everyone up to speed on what that 2022 class could potentially look like.
28:31 - END: Alright, the topic everyone has been waiting for. Ryan Walters is leaving Missouri to become the Defensive Coordinator at Illinois. This was surprising to some, not so to others. Regardless, thoughts on the move? And then let’s throw some ideas out there for who could replace Walters on Drinkwitz’s staff.
