Saturday sucked. I still usually enjoy the rest of the College Football day even after a Mizzou loss, but this weekend was different. There was nothing enjoyable after the Tigers’ performance.
However, there was still a lot of action elsewhere in the world of College Football, where nine Top 25 teams lost — including five to unranked teams. 34 ranked teams have lost in the first five weeks, which has set a record.
Nine @AP_Top25 teams lost on Saturday:

No. 3 Oregon
No. 8 Arkansas
No. 9 Notre Dame
No. 10 Florida
No. 12 Ole Miss
No. 15 Texas A&M
No. 18 Fresno State
No. 20 UCLA
No. 21 Baylor
That’s a record 34 ranked teams that have lost in 1st 5 weeks
In the SEC, Alabama and Georgia made statements with dominating wins over Ole Miss and Arkansas, while Florida lost at Kentucky for the first time since 1986, and Texas A&M got upset at home to Mississippi State. The conference still leads the way with seven teams ranked in this week’s AP Top 25, with Kentucky replacing Texas A&M in the polls.
Elsewhere, Cincinnati’s playoff chances are now legitimate after their huge road win at Notre Dame.
To put it in perspective, Mizzou’s first two losses were close games on the road to a now ranked Kentucky team, and a Boston College team that gave Clemson a serious test. That was encouraging, but frustrating.
None of that matters now because Saturday....well, happened. Anyways....
