Well, it was another mediocre week on the book, and that early-season success feels long gone. We went 1-1-1 last week courtesy of an abysmal performance from Ole Miss and Texas being unable to score on the goal line. Thankfully Cincinnati did just as I predicted and walked into South Bend and beat an average Notre Dame team. Hopefully, this week will bring us a bit more luck as we could really use a positive week.

This Week’s Picks
Nebraska +3.5 vs Michigan

In their last three games, Nebraska has a couple of narrow defeats against quality opponents on the road and a blowout home victory. I think Michigan is nowhere near good enough to be the No. 9 team in the country and going into Lincoln is going to be tough. I don’t know if Nebraska is going to win outright, but I’m leaning towards they do, and Scott Frost will get his biggest win as the Huskers HC. Even if they don’t 3.5 gives great leeway if it comes down to a FG, and buying a half-point to play for the +4 push isn’t a bad idea either.
Alabama -17.5 @ Texas A&M

Yes, 17.5 is a lot of points, and yes, Kyle Field is a hard place to play. But quite frankly, I think Bama is the best team in America, and I think A&M is pretty average. Zach Calzada won’t do anything to this Bama defense if Matt Corral couldn’t and you know the Tide will roll on offense. I think they blow out the Aggies as they continue their march to the CFP.
TCU -1.5 @ Texas Tech

We have bet against TCU the last two weeks, and we have been right both times. So naturally, you’re probably asking yourself why TCU? Well, I think it’s pretty simple, I don’t think Gary Patterson will lose three games in a row. Lubbock is a tough environment, and the Red Raiders have started the season off strong, but this is Gary Patterson we are talking about. He’s one of the best coaches in football, and Zach Evans is a monster. I think this could be the game that Max Duggan gets back on track, too. Give the Horned Frogs by a TD.
