LOOK: Marching Mizzou Reveals Football Clothes for North Texas Game

As a proud alumnus of the organization, I can firmly say that Marching Mizzou doesn’t get enough credit. They start gamedays as early as 5a and (sometimes) are the last fans in the stadium.

That’s doubly true for Homecoming games, where they entertain bar patrons on Friday nights are studying all night then turn around, get to the practice field at 4a, start the parade at whatever ungodly hour the city of Columbia decides to start, turn around and practice with the old farts (like myself) in the Alumni Band, then spread out over the tailgates to play for the crowds around the stadium.

And how are the rewarded for this service? Crappy box lunches, an apple or banana after halftime, and a free seat at all Missouri home games*. And doing it all while being massively hungover and wearing un-breathable polyester coats. Ah, I miss my 20s.

*with the occasional $20 handshake from drunk fans, but that’s a rarity

Anyway, the point of all this is to say: I’m glad the athletic department is finally getting the band involved outside of the pep rallies and gameday settings.

This week’s clothing reveal video features a few select members of Marching Mizzou, the Golden Girls, and cheer squad to reveal Chad Bailey wearing ALMOST the perfect uniform combination. Roll tape, Johnny!

Again, so close to perfection: Black shirt, black pants, BLOCK M ON THE HELMET....yellow helmet.

Can we please stop dancing around it and just wear the elite shirt/pant/hat combo already?
