Rock-M-Tology: Idle Saturday keeps Mizzou on the seven seed line

Mizzou didn’t play on Saturday. Maybe that was a good thing.

It was a jam-packed weekend in college basketball, just without Missouri. All in all, that might have been a good thing – just to reset.

As the calendar turns to March, we’re heading into the final week of the regular season, and there’s just no need to worry about Mizzou missing the NCAA Tournament. They’re in. This final stretch is all about improving their seeding, and games with Florida and LSU are opportunities that will make that possible.

Right now, Mizzou sits at seventh place in the SEC standings and would play No. 10 seed Georgia on Thursday night in the SEC Tournament.

As for NCAA Tournament seeding, here’s a look at the latest updated projections:

The Tigers come in as No. 7 seed in this latest edition of Rock-M-Tology.

TRENDING UP:

  • Oklahoma State (16-6): The Cowboys have won four in a row including big-time wins over Texas Tech and Oklahoma.
  • Colorado (19-7): The Buffaloes have won three in a row and finished a big week with wins over USC and UCLA.

TRENDING DOWN:

  • Ohio State (18-7): A three-game losing streak might just end the Buckeyes’ chances at a No. 1 seed.
  • Wisconsin (16-9): The loss to Illinois on Saturday was yet another missed opportunity for the Badgers. They’re just 2-4 in their last six games with the lone wins over Nebraska and Northwestern in that stretch.

Bubble winners: North Carolina (over Florida State), Xavier (over Creighton)

Bubble losers: Duke (to Louisville), Drake (to Bradley)
