Well, we made it. Welcome to Selection Sunday – where the Missouri Tigers are 100 percent going to hear their name called on CBS’ Selection Show for the second time in four seasons under Cuonzo Martin. The only question is what seed will they be rewarded.
It’s fair to say that Friday night’s loss in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals to Arkansas probably did absolutely nothing to hurt their seeding. They potentially could have moved up to a No. 6 seed with a longer run in Nashville, but that was realistically their ceiling.
The only intrigue today is will Mizzou avoid that dreaded 8/9 game? Their overall body of work this season should be enough to stay away from that. Some notes here on Missouri’s resume:
- Seven Quadrant 1 wins
- Zero Quadrant 3 or 4 losses
- 7-0 record in the non-conference (with five of seven non-conference opponents heading to the NCAA Tournament)
- A 6-4 record on the road
I ran a Twitter poll about Mizzou’s seed, and the majority beleive the Tigers deserve a No. 7.
What seed should #Mizzou get on Selection Sunday?

Which is good! Because that’s where they will end up in this final edition of Rock-M-Tology. Perhaps there’s still an outside shot at a No. 6 seed, because that’s where the Tigers land on Bracket Matrix’s latest.
