It’s official!

All 68 teams competing in this year’s NCAA Tournament will be participating with no contingency plans, according to the Senior Vice President of Basketball Dan Gavitt.

Of course, one of those 68 teams is Mizzou (as a nine seed.......bleh) who will tip-off vs No. 8 Oklahoma at 6:25 pm. CT on Saturday night (TNT for TV) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

And guess what? Missouri has the only player in this NCAA Tournament with 1,000+ career points, 400+ career assists and 180+ career steals. That would be DRUUUUU!

He’s obviously going to be relied on heavily if Mizzou is going to win their first NCAA Tournament game since 2010.

But, the biggest news that dropped on Wednesday concerning the Missouri-Oklahoma game is that Oklahoma’s second-leading scorer De’Vion Harmon has been ruled out due to testing positive COVID test.

Harmon is a sophomore guard who started 23 of Oklahoma’s 25 games this season, averaging 12.9 points, 2.0 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. It’s a brutal blow for Oklahoma and an unfortunate situation for this game. Here’s hoping everything else is okay involved with the Sooners.

Jon Rothstein mentions that Oklahoma is 5-2 in seven games this season without key contributors in their lineup.

And here is some positive news that seems like things are heading in the right direction (COVID-wise). Mizzou Athletics announced last night that there will be full capacity available for Mizzou Football’s seven home games at Faurot Field this upcoming season. For a team that has a manageable schedule in the first half of the season, this is certainly a welcome development as Eli Drinkwitz looks to capitalize on the momentum.
