Non-revenue sports: they’re so hot right now

Listen, y’all. We’re going to have plenty of original revenue-sport content for y’all in the coming months. Mizzou Hoops is basically turning over its roster. Mizzou Football is coming off one of the most exciting offseasons it’s ever had. Things are fun and interesting for Tiger fans right now.

However, we’re in the direct aftermath of revenue sport season... so let’s spend some time this morning to check in on the non-revenue sports! It was a bit of a slow weekend, but there was some fun stuff to highlight.

  • Mizzou Softball fell to 24-7 on the season after dropping a low-scoring series finale to fellow Top 25 ranked Auburn. The Tigers still took the series two games to one.
  • Eric Blum at the Columbia Tribune wrote about J’Den Cox’s latest bid at Olympic glory and, more importantly, who and what he’s wrestling for this time around.
  • We don’t do a lot of Mizzou Soccer coverage around here, but here’s an absolute screamer from the Tigers’ Julissa Cisneros.

The goal came in a 3-3 draw with Kansas State.

  • Keeping an eye on the transfer portal, Mizzou Hoops appears to be in the running for another mid-major player looking for a step up in the basketball world.

Porter finished with a stat line of 7 minutes, 5 points, 5 boards and 2 steals on a 100 percent shooting percentage. That’s an incredibly weird line, but it does seem to suit Jontay pretty well.
