It’s been a season that’s featured little success, but the Tigers said not so fast this weekend.
After falling in Game 1, the Tigers bounced back with huge victories in Games 2 and 3 against a team that will probably host a super regional this year. No one on planet earth that is plugged into the College Baseball world saw this coming, including me. This is instantly the hallmark moment of this season, and one of the best series victories the Tigers have in their time in the SEC. To put the icing on the cake, they blew the Bulldogs out 16-8.
Check out this Luke Mann nuke that sealed the deal in the 9th:
This win moves the Tigers to 7-20 in SEC play this year and a game back of Texas A&M and Auburn for the final SEC tournament spot. The good news for the Tigers is they hold the tiebreaker with A&M from a previous series victory, and they get to play Auburn at Taylor Stadium next week.
A&M and Auburn are actually playing each other in a series this weekend, and the best-case scenario for Mizzou is if the teams split the last two games as that would leave Mizzou just one game back of both with a chance to own the tiebreaker against each.
Check back later this weekend, for a more in-depth baseball recap, but for now M-I-Z!
