Come on down, Connor Wood!
The decorated offensive tackle from Idaho entered the transfer portal earlier this week, and quickly became one of the higher sought after transfers still in the portal. The former Freshman All-American has everything you want from a guy who is making the jump from FCS to the SEC. He has size, strength and experience. In his past two seasons, he’s started 20 games mostly at right tackle. At the end of this years spring practice, he was slated to be Montana State’s starting left tackle.
Obviously from a roster stand point, cornerback is the number one glaring hole on this roster but one could argue the offensive line is the next. There is no proven depth along the offensive line, and the guys that are currently there two guys who for certain won’t be there next year. Wood could be the piece that forces someone to the bench, or who takes over after this season. Regardless, quality offensive lineman are hard to find
I’m very excited to announce that I can fulfill my life long dream of playing at Mizzou in the SEC. #NEWZOU #GrindDontStop @CoachDrinkwitz @mjohnson7672 pic.twitter.com/ZV8h4r91Zv

Finding some film on this guy was difficult, but here’s some tape of him playing high level FCS competition.
His feet look like they will translate well to the SEC. He drives his feet well, and is quick enough to get to the next level and protect the QB well at the FCS level. There’s also some room for improvement there too as this was over a year ago, as Montana State cancelled their season due to the pandemic.

This is how we started the day:
