Let’s talk hoops recruiting.
After Cuonzo Martin landed a much needed target from the 2022 class in four-star and Top 60 player Aidan Shaw last week, perhaps he’s starting to gain a little bit of momentum on the recruiting trail.
Justin McBride, a 2023 four-star power forward from Dallas, Texas at Oak Hill Academy has announced his top four schools — which includes Missouri. The Tigers are also in competition with kansas, Texas Tech, and Arkansas.

According to Adam Zagoria of Zags Blog, McBride has already visited Missouri and will be visiting Texas Tech this weekend. Zagoria also notes a decision could be coming soon.
Here’s what McBride had to say about Mizzou:
“It was a great visit and I have family right down the street, such as my grandma and stuff, so it’s a good team for me. They’re a good transition team, too, so I like the play style, too.”
Who knows what Missouri’s chances are for McBride at this point, but ideally and realistically, these are the kind of recruiting battles we hope to see Cuonzo start winning consistently.
Moving on, I missed this from last night’s Mizzou Football 2022 schedule release, but the Tigers’ Homecoming game has been set for the October 22nd game against Vanderbilt. Smart.

And a big congrats to former Mizzou running back Damarea Crockett, who was promoted to the Denver Broncos’ active roster at RB.

We also placed OLB Bradley Chubb on IR.
Here’s more from the Broncos website:
Crockett, who joined the Broncos’ practice squad last season, was elevated to the game-day roster for each of the Broncos’ first two games and contributed on special teams. Crockett went undrafted in 2020 after posting 2,252 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns for Missouri.
