Last week we went 2-0-1. Ohio State (-14) pushed after the Buckeyes needed a late surge to overcome the Boat-rowin’ Golden Gophers, but Alabama (-19.5) and Ole Miss (-9) cruised with ease, giving us an undefeated record to start the season off. Now let’s jump into this week.

This Weeks Picks:

Mizzou +5 @ Kentucky

The first pick of this week is backing the good ole Missouri Tigers. Is this a biased pick? Maybe. Should the Tigers still cover? I believe so.

Kentucky looked great in Week 1. Will Levis had an incredible game, and the Kentucky defense is a classic, gritty Mark Stoops defense that will give anyone fits. However, I think the Tigers are going to give the Wildcats a completely different look than what they saw last week. Louisiana-Monroe is one of the worst FBS teams in the country and Will Levis wasn’t known as an explosive passer prior to this game. I also think the Tiger defense really settled into the game last week in the second when JC Carlies was inserted into the lineup and Blaze Alldredge stopped missing tackles. I like the Tigers to win this game outright 24-21, but I’ll take the 5 points as extra security.

Coastal Carolina -25 vs Kansas *Friday Game*

Again it’s easy to say this is a biased pick, but come on: kU is just that bad and Coastal is the real deal. Grayson McCall is a stud under center and helped the Chants score 52 points last week. You’re telling me a kU team that stormed the field for beating a mediocre FCS team last week is going to go into Conway and not get blown out by one of the best Group of 5 teams in the country? There’s just no way. Give me McCall and Jamey Chadwell’s offense hanging another 50, and CCU wins by at least 30.

Iowa +4.5 @ Iowa State

Yes, Iowa State is good, and I believe they’ll figure it out to put together another 10-3 season, but it’s impossible to ignore how bad they played and how good Iowa looked in Week 1. The Hawkeyes blew out an Indiana team that had tons of preseason hype by holding Michael Penix and co. to just 233 yards and forcing 3 turnovers. Iowa State on the other hand barely escaped FCS Northern Iowa 16-10 at home. This is also a rivalry game, and it just makes sense the game will likely come down to a last-minute score. Give me Iowa and 4.5 points, and I’m feeling great headed into this game.
