Mizzou Football’s Signing Day features national media attention and billboards from signees’ hometowns

Mizzou Links for Thursday, December 21

National Signing Day’s early signing period has come and gone, and Eli Drinkwitz and the staff are putting together the finishing touches on what is a successful 2024 recruiting class — at least in the early stages.

All 20 of the previously committed Tigers have signed their NLI on NSD as you can find here on our updated post, highlighted by the official addition of Williams Nwaneri:

Mizzou’s 2024 class currently ranks No. 23 in the country on Rivals and 24th on 247Sports.

From 247Sports, Mizzou was mentioned among the programs trending up in 2024:

“Two of Missouri’s top-5 all-time signees come in the last three cycles, which is probably all you need to say to justify why Eli Drinkwitz’s program is a stock-up one.

The commitment of 5-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri happened a few months ago, but he never wavered. Furthermore, the Tigers nearly pulled off the lats-second flip of in-state 5-star wideout Ryan Wingo, giving him a lot to think about before he put pen to paper with the Texas Longhorns. But that’s OK: Four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield, the No. 51 player in the nation, committed to Mizzou on Dec. 19. His 247Sports player comp is CeeDee Lamb.

Missouri also landed the portal’s top offensive lineman, Cayden Green from Oklahoma, and one of its top cornerbacks, Toriano Pride from Clemson. Two other transfers have four-star ratings. In all, the Tigers have the No. 23-ranked overall class. A 10-2 season and date vs. Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl will be a fun cherry on top of a memorable December.”

From CBS Sports HQ’s Josh Pate on his Late Kick Podcast (On Mizzou Football around the 17:00 minute mark):

“Eli Drinkwitz is one of the talks of the sport right now. They’ve got a Top 25 recruiting class, and then they’re doing what they’re doing in the portal......Buy all of the stock in Missouri, because that’s a program, not a team, not a one-hit wonder, that is a program that is trending up.”

Well, this is certainly a great recruiting strategy: Signing with Mizzou Football means you will have billboards up in your hometown. A rundown of some pictures here:

Mizzou’s work in the 2024 class isn’t done yet, however. Trajen Greco, a four-star safety from Hoschton, Georgia will make his decision on January 6th between Missouri, USC, and Georgia Tech.

Stay tuned for that — as Greco will be making his decision during the All-American Bowl on NBC.
