As the Missouri Tigers prepare for the Border War Showdown this afternoon against Kansas, some unfortunate pre-game injury news was announced.
Mizzou’s depth on this roster will be losing a key piece as Caleb Grill has been ruled out for a period of 5-7 weeks due to a wrist injury, per the team.
The injury took place in Sunday’s 82-72 win over Wichita State, where Grill arguably had his best game as a Tiger — producing 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Grill was averaging 8.4 points per game and had four double-digit point games so far this season.
The positive news was that the surgery was successful, and Missouri hopes Grill can return for the second half of the season — and potentially sooner.
Missouri (7-2) takes on Kansas in the Border War rivalry at Allen Fieldhouse this afternoon at 4:15 p.m. CST on ESPN with Tom Hart and Fran Fraschilla on the call.
