Remember the last time Mizzou brought someone to Columbia from Boone, NC? That’s worked out pretty well so far, hasn’t it?

Eli Drinkwitz reached back in time for a bit on Sunday and landed the commitment of a former Appalachian State Mountaineer, running back Nate Noel.

Noel is the second running back to commit to Mizzou since the end of the season, joining Marcus Carroll. While Carroll is the more highly touted of the duo, Noel comes to Mizzou with an extensive track record of success. The graduate student has rushed for 3,074 yards in his career, averaging 5.7 yards per attempt with 18 touchdowns to his name. He’s also had success against Power 5 opponents, rushing for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Mountaineers game against North Carolina this season. Given his production and consistency, it would be foolish to write off Noel in the battle for the starter’s role.
