Former 4 start running back Chase Abbington from Fort Zumwalt South announced on Facebook his plan to to transfer and play football elsewhere. On March 22nd, Barry Odom told the media that Abbington had decided to "quit" football.
Abbington had spent two years in JUCO and struggled to see the field when he did arrive in Columbia. He's already used his redshirt season so a transfer to another D1 program seems unlikely.
We wish Abbington the best of luck in his future endeavors.
Per Mauk's Instagram account: "The next month is going to be hard leaving Mizzou but I have another shot to show the world what I can really do on the field at another school somewhere else. People will say what they want to take you down, but I know where I am going and nothing will stop me from getting back to the top. But I will say it's kind of cool to see the future after football on someone's race car! #Phil4:13 #JustWaitOnIt #ComebackIsComingSoon "
