Dominic Collins, JUCO wide receiver, commits to Missouri

Mizzou's 17th commit is the first receiver for the 2016 class

Moments before we learned that Webb City offensive lineman, Trystan Castillo would stick with his pledge to Missouri, another 2016 recruit announced his intentions to play for the Tigers.

The 6'2 175 lb receiver from Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California averaged almost 100 yards and a touchdown a game last year., according to SCFA.

Currently ranked a 3 star by Rivals, it doesn't appear he has been rated by either 247 or ESPN. He will have three years in which to play two seasons at Mizzou. Collins will be competing with nine other receivers for playing time.

Dominic Collins 6'2 175 Emanuel Hall 6'3 196 John Johnson (RS) 5'8 174
Ray Wingo 5'11 175

I have to wonder if this affects the potential transfer of former Alabama WR Chris Black who visited two weekends ago and was largely considered an option to help out the struggling receiving corps. Regardless, the addition of Collins adds a receiver with experience as a number one option and will mean better competition at the top. Collins will reportedly visit Mizzou this weekend.

Welcome to Mizzou, Dom Collins.
