Previous Posts Feb. 2: Missouri flips tight end Brendan Scales from Alabama

From his commitment post:

Josh Heupel has been working to get this type of athlete who can be an in-line blocker as well as pass catching threat. Apparently the staff convinced him to come to Mizzou by explaining they wanted to run the ball significantly more.

Danny Heitert:

"All the things that are required [of an H-back] -- blocking at any point along the line of scrimmage, blocking the edge, running option routes -- he can do any of that when he wants to."

The most interesting part of this Scout.com article, by the way?

Scales said the Missouri coaching staff sees him filling a similar role to Blake Bell at Oklahoma, who transitioned from quarterback to tight end and was used in a variety of ways.

“I’ll play wildcat quarterback and I’ll do a lot more splitting out like I did in high school,” Scales said. “Blocking obviously but catching as well.”

ScalesDozer, eh?
