Missouri hosted quite a few defensive linemen this weekend in Columbia. One of them evidently just committed: Houston tackle Kobie Whiteside.

Whiteside is a 6’1, 304-pound prospect from Alief Taylor High School. He is a late-rising prospect — he does not yet have a 247Sports Composite rating, his Rivals star rating is mid-two, and his 247 (non-Composite) rating is low-three. He listed only power conference offers from Missouri and Illinois.
Whiteside appeared destined for the Group of 5, visiting Colorado State and New Mexico in recent weeks. But Mizzou called, and he answered.
His highlight film is above. It begins with a Piesman-level, “read the screen, then pick it off” moment and displays quite a few bursts of explosiveness.
Whiteside is not a highly-rated recruit, but Mizzou fans have to hope that the Tigers’ late discovery is able to quickly play a role in what is at the moment a thin defensive tackle rotation. Opportunity awaits if he is ready.
WELCOME, KOBIE.
