After a long pursuit by both schools, defensive tackle Caleb Sampson chose Missouri over Kansas State on National Signing Day.
Proud to say I'm officially apart of the Mizzou football family! Thanks to everyone who played a part in my decision making process#ShowMe17 pic.twitter.com/7cbgVnQNqF— Caleb Sampson (@sampsoncaleb72) February 1, 2017
Sampson checks the boxes. He has the requisite size you look for, and his highlight film shows that he has good strength and closes in on the ball carrier well. And his quickness is such that it appears he lined up at defensive end a good amount.
Mizzou has been on the trail of the former Tulane commit for a while and now gets a nice lump of clay to mold. The Tigers desperately needed defensive tackles, and they really wanted this one.
