3-star Michigan cornerback Vincent Gray commits to Missouri

The second, and probably not final, commitment of the weekend is in.

We knew heading into Friday night’s Night at the Zou festivities that it was going to be a pretty big weekend for Mizzou football recruiting. So far, so good. The event is still a few hours away from starting, but the Tigers have already added commitment number two for the weekend.

That’s Vincent Gray, a three-star cornerback from Rochester, Mich., making it official himself.

According to the 247Sports Composite, the 6’2, 180-pound Gray is the No. 631 player, the No. 57 cornerback, and the No. 13 Michigan prospect in the 2018 class.

Gray boasted offers from power conference programs like Boston College, Iowa State, Kentucky, Oregon State, Purdue, Syracuse, Virginia, and Washington State and visited Columbia unofficially earlier in July.

Here’s his junior year highlight film:

Gray appears to be a willing, physical defender with a taller frame for a cornerback — something Barry Odom had professed a preference for in the past — and solid ball skills, albeit against mediocre quarterbacking. You can see what the attraction here is.

Gray becomes Missouri’s seventh known commitment for 2018 and the second cornerback in the class, joining Tyrone Collins. He probably isn’t the final commitment of the weekend. WELCOME, VINCENT.
