If I’m being honest I wasn’t totally in love with the Mizzou makeover a few years ago. They did a nice job of unifying the look across all the sports and keeping things consistent, and I’ve really enjoyed the football uniform combinations and I think the football team has done a great job of marketing all the different and fun looks.
Basketball was okay. The uniforms weren’t bad but they weren’t great either. Then this morning we got a tease something new was on the horizon. And wow was it:

When you look back upon the history of great Mizzou basketball uniforms, the list is fairly sparse but you typically land with the classic 1980’s and early 1990’s uniforms with the block M, and piping on the collar and shoulders. Before the reveal Matt made his case to pay homage to the classic look:
Let's be honest, Nike already showed it could create the goods with these throwback unis #Mizzou donned several seasons ago. Just merge it with the current uniform template and we're good. pic.twitter.com/EGqI56PZ35

I do like those uniforms, but I think Nike did this one better. Take a deeper look (courtesy of Mizzou Basketball):

We haven’t even started football and I’m already getting antsy about Hoops thanks to today’s unveil.
