From Whiteside’s commitment article this week:
Whiteside appeared destined for the Group of 5, visiting Colorado State and New Mexico in recent weeks. But Mizzou called, and he answered.
His highlight film is above. It begins with a Piesman-level, “read the screen, then pick it off” moment and displays quite a few bursts of explosiveness.
Whiteside is not a highly-rated recruit, but Mizzou fans have to hope that the Tigers’ late discovery is able to quickly play a role in what is at the moment a thin defensive tackle rotation. Opportunity awaits if he is ready.
There is playing time available for any of the 2017 signees who show up ready for action, and Whiteside has the requisite size already.
WELCOME, KOBIE.
