Ok, so I wasn’t expecting this, but that’s about par for the course when it comes to Mizzou Basketball and it’s recruiting under Cuonzo Martin. Ever since the Porters stopped making commitment announcments, everything else has been very quiet, including this... but today Martin and his staff got a commitment from Kobe Brown’s little brother, Kaleb.

Brown chose Mizzou over a final six of Mercer, UW-Milwaukee, Grand Canyon, Minnesota, and West Virginia. It’s never easy to tell how serious Missouri is or isn’t about a player, and this spring and summer Brown never quite saw his recruitment blow up like some thought it could. Still, he opted to make a commitment with a known quantity, and chose to join his brother in the Mizzou family.
Let’s Meet Kaleb Brown
- From: Huntsville, Alabama
- High School: Lee High School
- Position: Combo Guard
- Ht/Wt: 6’6 / 220
- Rivals Ranking: NR
- 247Composite Ranking: NR
- Total announced offers: 11
- Offers to note: Penn State, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, UAB
There is a lot to like about Kaleb. Like his brother, he has a high skill level for his size, and he’s got a big strong body. Where Kobe probably fits as a tweener at the wing and combo-forward spot, Kaleb fits better as a tweener between the combo guard and wing spot. He’s not an explosive athlete, but with his size and strength he can get into his spots well enough to be effective.
