Maty Mauk's suspension means almost no changes on the Mizzou depth chart

On the heels of the news of Maty Mauk's second suspension, Mizzou has released its depth chart for the Mississippi State game on Thursday night (pdf). Let's take a look.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Offense

QB
Drew Lock (6'4, 205, Fr.) -- 77-for-152, 763 yards, 3 TD, 3 INT, 15 sacks (3.9 yards/att); 11 carries, 95 yards (8.6)
Eddie Printz (6'3, 205, So.) *OR*
Marvin Zanders (6'1, 185, RSFr.)

Since Mauk isn't back after all, there are no changes here.

RB
Russell Hansbrough (5'9, 195, Sr.) -- 52 carries, 202 yards (3.9); 14 targets, 11 catches, 57 yards (4.1)
Ish Witter (5'10, 190, So.) -- 89 carries, 342 yards (3.8), 1 TD; 17 targets, 12 catches, 89 yards (5.2)
Tyler Hunt (5'11, 210, Sr.) -- 14 carries, 54 yards (3.9); 5 targets, 4 catches, 166 yards (33.2), 1 TD
Chase Abbington (6'2, 215, So.) -- 6 carries, 39 yards (6.5); 4 targets, 1 catch, 5 yards (1.3)

No changes here, though it just hit me that, eight games into the season, Russell Hansbrough has no touchdowns. That's incredibly, relentlessly depressing.

WR-X
J'Mon Moore (6'3, 190, So.) -- 46 targets, 20 catches, 235 yards (5.1), 2 TD *OR*
Emanuel Hall (6'3, 200, Fr.) -- 11 targets, 4 catches, 31 yards (2.8)
Eric Laurent (6'2, 215, Jr.) -- 1 target, 1 catch, 4 yards

WR-H
Nate Brown (6'3, 205, So.) -- 38 targets, 20 catches, 251 yards (6.6), 4 TD
Cam Hilton (6'0, 180, Fr.) -- 4 targets, 3 catches, 44 yards (11.0)
Ray Wingo (5'11, 180, RSFr.) -- 7 targets, 3 catches, 23 yards (3.3)

WR-Z
Wesley Leftwich (6'1, 205, Sr.) -- 37 targets, 15 catches, 186 yards (5.0), 1 TD
Keyon Dilosa (6'3, 200, RSFr.) -- 11 targets, 10 catches, 65 yards (5.9)
DeSean Blair (6'3, 190, RSFr.) -- 4 targets, 2 catches, 25 yards (6.3)

TE
Sean Culkin (6'6, 245, Jr.) -- 19 targets, 14 catches, 117 yards (6.2) *OR*
Jason Reese (6'5, 250, So.) -- 20 targets, 11 catches, 101 yards (5.1)
Clayton Echard (6'5, 260, Sr.) -- 2 targets, 1 catch, 6 yards (3.0)
Kendall Blanton (6'6, 250, RSFr.)

Since Thomas Richard had slipped off of the depth chart before the Vandy game, his announced transfer does not impact the two-deep. However, there's a slight move at tight end: Sean Culkin and Jason Reese are listed as co-starters. Reese was a co-No. 2 with Clayton Echard, but he's apparently had a good bye week.

LT
Connor McGovern (6'4, 305, Sr.) -- 36 career starts
Malik Cuellar (6'5, 300, Jr.)

LG
Nate Crawford (6'5, 310, So.) -- 6 career starts
Brad McNulty (6'4, 305, Sr.) -- 18 career starts

Alec Abeln (6'3, 290, So.) -- 2 career starts

C
Evan Boehm (6'3, 310, Sr.) -- 48 career starts
Sam Bailey (6'5, 280, RSFr.)

RG
Mitch Hall (6'5, 310, Sr.) -- 12 career starts
Kevin Pendleton (6'4, 315, RSFr.)

RT
Taylor Chappell (6'5, 305, Sr.) -- 15 career starts
Paul Adams (6'6, 290, RSFr.)

The two-deep up front reflects what we saw against Vandy. You pretty much are what you are by November, but here's to hoping the bye week hoped this new arrangement gel a bit ... even if the refusal to move McGovern to guard almost feels like trolling at this point. (It's not. I know. But come on.)

Defense

DE
Walter Brady (6'3, 255, RSFr.) -- 19.0 tackles, 9.5 TFL (6 sacks), 1 INT
Marcell Frazier (6'5, 265, So.) -- 9.5 tackles, 4.5 TFL (1 sack)

DT
Josh Augusta (6'4, 345, Jr.) -- 13.0 tackles, 5 TFL, 1 PBU
Terry Beckner Jr. (6'4, 300, Fr.) -- 17.0 tackles, 7 TFL (3 sacks), 1 PBU

NG
Rickey Hatley (6'4, 300, Jr.) -- 12.5 tackles, 2.5 TFL
A.J. Logan (6'2, 310, So.) -- 6.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 FF
Josh Moore (6'5, 280, Fr.) -- 3.0 tackles

DE
Charles Harris (6'3, 255, So.) -- 34.5 tackles, 15.5 TFL (6 sacks), 2 FF
Nate Howard (6'4, 240, Fr.) -- 5.5 tackles, 1.5 TFL
Spencer Williams (6'3, 245, RSFr.)

No changes here. Terry Beckner might be the best freshman defensive lineman in the country, and he can't crack the starting lineup. That's amazing for so many awesome reasons.

WLB
Kentrell Brothers (6'1, 235, Sr.) -- 76.0 tackles, 7.0 TFL (2.5 sacks), 2 INT, 1 PBU
Joey Burkett (6'2, 210, So.) -- 6.0 tackles

MLB
Michael Scherer (6'3, 230, Jr.) -- 46.5 tackles, 5 TFL, 2 PBU
Brandon Lee (6'2, 220, RSFr.) -- 2.5 tackles, 1 PBU

SLB
Donavin Newsom (6'2, 230, Jr.) -- 28.5 tackles, 7 TFL (2.5 sacks), 1 PBU
Clarence Green (6'0, 220, Sr.) -- 15.0 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 PBU, 1 blocked kick
Terez Hall (6'2, 215, Fr.) -- 4.5 tackles

No changes. None expected. By the way, Donavin Newsom is on pace for double-digit TFLs. Nobody has benefited more from Barry Odom's arrival than him. All the linebackers have, obviously, but we already knew Brothers and Scherer were going to produce big things.

CB
Kenya Dennis (5'11, 200, Sr.) -- 24.5 tackles, 2 TFL (1 sack), 1 INT, 3 PBU

John Gibson (6'0, 190, Jr.) -- 8.5 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PBU

CB
Aarion Penton (5'10, 190, Jr.) -- 31.5 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 6 PBU, 1 FF
Logan Cheadle (5'10, 180, So.) -- 5.5 tackles, 1 PBU
Anthony Hines (6'1, 190, So.) -- 0.5 tackles

No changes. None expected.

SS
Anthony Sherrils (6'0, 190, So.) -- 36.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT, 4 PBU, 1 FF
Thomas Wilson (5'10, 190, So.) -- 7.0 tackles, 0.5 TFL

FS
Ian Simon (6'0, 195, Sr.) -- 25.5 tackles, 2 INT, 3 PBU
Cortland Browning (6'1, 205, Sr.) -- 6.5 tackles
Tavon Ross (6'0, 200, RSFr.) -- 1.5 tackles

No changes. None expected.

Special Teams

K
Andrew Baggett (6'1, 215, Sr.) -- 12-12 PAT, 11-15 FG

P
Corey Fatony (5'11, 185, Fr.) -- 54 punts, 44.6 average, 20 fair caught, 19 inside 20

KR
John Gibson (6'0, 190, Jr.) -- 8 KR, 12.4 average
Finis Stribling IV (5'11, 175, RSFr.) -- 1 KR, 23.0 yards
Ray Wingo (5'11, 180, RSFr.)

PR
Cam HIlton (6'1, 180, Fr.) -- 6 PR, 3.5 average, 2 fumbles
Aarion Penton (5'10, 190, Jr.) -- 9 PR, 9.1 average, 1 TD, 7 fair catches

So it's interesting that Gibson is still listed as the top kick return man despite losing his job to Stribling after fumbling (well, technically almost fumbling, but ... fumbling) against Vandy. Sometimes the depth chart doesn't reflect what we'll actually see in the game, though. We'll see who fields Mississippi State's first (AND ONLY!) kick.
