What's On
A few more words from Gary Pinkel.
MUtigers.com: Brothers' Career Night Highlights 27-20 @MizzouFootball Win at Arkansas State
The Tigers extended a school-record regular season road victory streak to 11 games, dating back to Sept. 21, 2013.
Mizzou's defense limited A-State to 217 total yards and outscored the Red Wolves 17-3 in the second half. The Tigers picked off three passes on the evening and recorded 15.0 tackles for loss (-60 yards).
"You never know what's going to happen. As always, our team battled," head coach Gary Pinkel said. "There's a lot of things we can improve on, but there were also a lot of outstanding efforts. We worked well with the defense, but the offense executed better in the second half. We utilized field position well."

Medic! Medic!
This really is an amazing run of injuries ... and some pretty revealing words about Morgan Steward.
PowerMizzou: Rushing to conclusions
"Our top three running backs are out," Pinkel said. "Really, if you count Trevon Walters, isn't here and we expected him this year, that's our top four. If any of you got any eligibility left, you come see me." [...]
Muddying up that picture even more are comments Pinkel made in a post-game radio interview, where he said about Steward, "We're trying to get him back. He's really been getting whacked bad there. We're going to have to reconsider." [...]
"We've got a problem there," Pinkel said. "I don't know what we're going to do yet. It's not magic. It's not like the NFL where you make a few phone calls and bring them on in. We've got a couple young freshman we have (Ryan Williams and Marquise Doherty, who both were expected to redshirt this season), we're going to have to look at that and some other things."
In case you're wondering, UConn had a decent run defense and awful pass defense last year; thus far this year (albeit against Villanova and Army), the run front has looked pretty good. The UConn offense hasn't, mind you, but if Mizzou were to tear off a freshman's redshirt, this wouldn't be the easiest first test. Then again, the Tigers might not have a choice.

The Trib: Culkin catches go-ahead TD as part of career day
"I was beating the cornerback every time, and I was trying to tell him to throw it, throw the deep ball," Leftwich said. "Then they called the perfect route, where it’s a go route, and I just knew I had to beat him off the line and Maty will get it to me."
Leftwich could recall his last TD before Saturday.
"It was high school in 2010 at Gateway Tech," Leftwich said. "That was" a regular-season game, "because I got injured at the end of my senior season. It was just a seam up the middle, and I scored a touchdown."
