Offense
Quarterback
- Drew Lock (6’4, 220, So.) — 96-for-162 (59%), 1,508 yards, 14 TD, 3 INT, 1 sack (9.2 yards per pass attempt); 12 carries, 48 yards (4.0)
- Marvin Zanders (6’1, 200, So.) — 6-for-7 (86%), 46 yards, 1 TD (6.6 per attempt); 16 carries, 124 yards (7.8), 2 TD
I still wish we would see Zanders in more obvious run situations, and hey, maybe we still will. But instead of complaining further about that, I’ll just not that, projected over 13 games, Drew Lock is on pace for 4,900 passing yards and 46 touchdowns. It’ll be hard to maintain that pace with EMU and Delaware State in the rearview, but ... holy moly.
Tailback
- Ish Witter (5’10, 200, Jr.) — 57 carries, 209 yards (3.7), 2 TD; 6 targets, 3 catches, 24 yards (4.0 per target) OR
- Alex Ross (6’1, 220, Sr.) — 20 carries, 72 yards (3.6); 2 targets, 1 catch, 3 yards (1.5)
- Unlisted: Damarea Crockett (6’0, 225 Fr.) — 34 carries, 210 yards (6.2), 3 TD
Mizzou’s leading rusher is still unlisted, but there is a slight change: Witter ahead of Ross among the OR starters. I should have made sure you were sitting down before throwing that at you.
Wide Receiver
- J’Mon Moore (6’3, 205, Jr.) — 51 targets, 26 catches (51%), 434 yards (8.5 per target), 6 TD
- Keyon Dilosa (6’3, 205, So.) — 3 targets, 2 catches (67%), 7 yards (2.3)
Wide Receiver
- Johnathan Johnson (5’10, 185, RSFr.) — 14 targets, 8 catches (57%), 159 yards (11.4), 1 TD OR
- Chris Black (6’0, 190, Sr.) — 13 targets, 11 catches (85%), 175 yards (13.5), 1 TD OR
- Ray Wingo (5’11, 185, So.) — 5 targets, 4 catches (80%), 126 yards (25.2)
Wide Receiver
- Emanuel Hall (6’3, 205, So.) — 18 targets, 13 catches (72%), 241 yards (13.4), 2 TD OR
- Dimetrios Mason (6’0, 185, Fr.) — 23 targets, 16 catches (70%), 207 yards (9.0)
Another slight change: Hall and Mason are now listed as OR starters as well. That makes sense since Mason has actually been targeted more frequently.
Slot receiver update: Chrisraythan Wingblackson is now on pace for 104 targets, 75 catches, and 1,495 yards. #WingblacksonForBiletnikoff
Tight End
- Sean Culkin (6’6, 250, Sr.) — 5 targets, 3 catches (60%), 35 yards (7.0)
- Jason Reese (6’5, 250, Jr.) — 10 targets, 5 catches (50%), 55 yards (5.5), 2 TD OR
- Kendall Blanton (6’6, 260, So.) — 9 targets, 6 catches (67%), 57 yards (6.3), 1 TD
Tight ends averaging about six targets per game, running back about two per game. I’m curious if that changes now that Mizzou is fully engrossed in conference play.
Left Tackle
- Tyler Howell (6’8, 320, Jr.) — 4 career starts
- Kyle Mitchell (6’5, 330, So.)
Left Guard
- Kevin Pendleton (6’4, 335, So.) — 4 career starts
- Trystan Castillo (6’4, 320, Fr.)
Center
- Samson Bailey (6’4, 295, So.) — 3 career starts
- Michael Stannard (6’2, 290, Sr.) — 8 career starts (at Memphis)
- Jonah Dubinski (6’2, 290, RSFr.)
Right Guard
- Alec Abeln (6’3, 305, Jr.) — 7 career starts
- Adam Ploudre (6’4, 315, Jr.) — 1 career start
Right Tackle
- Paul Adams (6’6, 315, So.) — 4 career starts
- Tre’Vour Simms (6’5, 350, Fr.)
Stannard is now the standalone backup center — no OR with Dubinski — but since Samson Bailey sat out this past week and Alec Abeln started, we know who’s the actual backup center.
Defense
Defensive End
- Jordan Harold (6’2, 265, Jr.) — 2.5 tackles, 1 TFL (1 sack) OR
- Marcell Frazier (6’5, 260, Jr.) — 7.0 tackles, 1 TFL (1 sack), 1 PBU, 1 FF
Defensive End
- Charles Harris (6’3, 260, Jr.) — 10.0 tackles, 4 TFL (3 sacks)
- Spencer Williams (6’3, 250, So.) — 8.0 tackles
Nice game from Harold and Frazier against Delaware State. We’ll see if that generates some confidence for LSU et al.
Defensive Tackle
- Rickey Hatley (6’4, 320, Sr.) — 6.0 tackles, 1 TFL (1 sack) OR
- Terry Beckner Jr. (6’4, 290, So.) — 12.0 tackles, 1 TFL
Defensive Tackle
- A.J. Logan (6’2, 325, Jr.) — 4.5 tackles, 0.5 TFL
- Josh Augusta (6’4, 355, Sr.) — 8.0 tackles, 3 TFL (1 sack)
TBJ is the leading tackler among linemen. Didn’t quite expect that (mainly because I expected it to be Harris by far).
Linebacker
- Donavin Newsom (6’2, 240, Sr.) — 24.0 tackles, 1 TFL (1 sack), 1 PBU
- Terez Hall (6’2, 225, So.) — 7.0 tackles, 1 TFL
Linebacker
- Michael Scherer (6’3, 235, Sr.) — 24.5 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 INT, 2 PBU
- Cale Garrett (6’3, 230, Fr.) — 6.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 PBU
Linebacker
- Joey Burkett (6’2, 225, So.) — 15.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT
- Brandon Lee (6’2, 225, So.) — 8.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PBU, 1 FF
Really nice rotation here.
Cornerback
- Aarion Penton (5’10, 195, Sr.) — 11.5 tackles, 2 INT, 6 PBU
- Christian Holmes (6’1, 190, Fr.) — 1 PBU OR
- DeMarkus Acy (6’2, 190, Fr.) — 2 PBU
Cornerback
- John Gibson (6’0, 195, Sr.) — 9.5 tackles, 1 INT, 4 PBU
- Logan Cheadle (5’10, 180, Jr.) — 3.0 tackles, 2 PBU, 1 FF
Mizzou corners had a really nice day against Delaware State, but ... I guess the DSU game would have only been notable if Mizzou corners hadn’t had a nice day.
Strong Safety
- Cam Hilton (6’0, 190, So.) — 9.0 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PBU OR
- Anthony Sherrils (6’0, 205, Jr.) — 19.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT
Free Safety
- Thomas Wilson (5’10, 195, Jr.) — 22.5 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 PBU
- Ronnell Perkins (6’0, 200, RSFr.) — 4.5 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 PBU
Some shifting! Hilton has moved from backup free safety to co-starting strong safety. Barry Odom went out of his way to insist that was more because of Hilton than Sherrils, but ... hey ... it’s proof that this two-deep can actually change sometimes. And Hilton really has had a strong couple of games.
Special Teams
Place-Kicker
- Tucker McCann (6’0, 195, Fr.) — 18-20 PAT, 2-3 FG under 40, 1-2 FG over 40
- Turner Adams (6’0, 205, Jr.) — 2-3 PAT
Another made field goal, another missed PAT for McCann. But I don’t think there’s any question he’s more confident now than he was about three weeks ago.
Punter
- Corey Fatony (5’11, 205, So.) — 17 punts, 43.6 average, 6 inside 20
And 1-for-1 passing.
Kick Returns
- Alex Ross (6’1, 220, Sr.) — 1 KR, 23 yards
- Greg Taylor (5’10, 200, So.)
- Damarea Crockett (5’11, 220, Fr.) — 5 KR, 17.8 average
- Unlisted: Johnathan Johnson (5’10, 185, RSFr.) — 6 KR, 18.8 average
Punt Returns
- Johnathan Johnson (5’10, 185, RSFr.) — 5 PR, 13.8 average (1 TD) AND
- Chris Black (6’0, 190, Sr.) — 5 PR, 14.0 average
Kick returns were few and far between last week. I’ll take that anytime.
