The Trib: Britt teaches football, life lessons to campers
Britt floated in and out of the drills, interacting with campers. He threw passes, demonstrated three-point stances and duck walks to the offensive line group and took part in a pursuit drill where all 6-foot-6, 325 pounds of him chased after a terrified-looking 7-year-old with a football before Britt diverted and laid out a tackling dummy instead.
"It gives him the opportunity to share his vision for the youth and show them you can accomplish all your dreams. You’ve just got to work hard," Kelly Britt said. "It just comes natural to him. It’s the heart he’s got. He loves working with the kids."
Kelly Britt wore a shirt with her son’s name and number on the front and a simple math equation on the back: "LHS + MIZ = NFL." Britt still feels committed to both communities, a sense he conveyed when he name-dropped both Lebanon and Missouri in the televised player introductions for his NFL debut on NBC last September.
