Welcome back Tiger fans to another episode of Before the Box Score with Nate Edwards and Brandon Kiley! Holy smokes, Mizzou finally beat Kentucky after what has seemed like an eternity of losing to the basketball school. Nate and BK break down what we saw from Mizzou on Saturday, which really was a beatdown - and beating - of Kentucky at their own game.

They also talk about how Mizzou can build momentum on this and don’t look now, but that’s 2 in a row for the Tigers. Things are pointing up in Columbia!

Episode Breakdown:

:45 - 10:00: Welcome back Tiger Fans to the reaction edition of BTBS with Nate Edwards and Brandon Kiley. Before we dive into the game, those of you watching this on TV, WOOF on the announcers. Regardless, Mizzou did leave the game with a W! It has seemed like it was forever ago the last time Mizzou beat Kentucky, so this one feels good.

10:01 - 21:50: Mizzou beat LSU by throwing the ball all over the place and then they just beat Kentucky by dominating time of possession and slowing the pace down. That’s pretty darn impressive when you can win in different ways, which is pretty new to the Mizzou Tigers. Nick Bolton and Larry Rountree deserve a whole lot of appreciation after every game, especially this one.

21:51 - 38:00: The 21 play drive is the drive that stands out most to Nate. But every drive Mizzou had was impressive because of how methodical they were. The play calling in this game was great, the ball control, etc. Overall, this was just a good game by Mizzou all around.

38:01 - 56:00: Bazelak was not asked to be super human in this game, but he still had some questionable decisions out there. He’s young so there will be some growing pains, but just something to note. And other takeaways from the game plan.

56:01 - END: Final thoughts and the upcoming schedule for Mizzou is daunting. BUT there is some hope and optimism, which is nice to see after some time without it. We’ll see you later this week to preview the game against Florida.
