Welcome back Tiger Fans to another episode of Before the Box Score! Nate Edwards is joined by Aaron Dryden to recap the game Saturday where Mizzou looked outmatched for most of the game. Some of that can be chalked up to just being short-handed, but it still wasn’t pretty either way. Miscues early doomed the Tigers, but there are still takeaways to discuss.
Nate and Aaron also recap some season thoughts as Mizzou is probably looking to go bowling this season (Edit: Since the podcast was recorded, it was announced Mizzou will play Iowa in the Music City Bowl). What will that look like? Let’s get to it.
:45 - 8:11: Aaron Dryden is back once again and the crew just watched Mizzou get dismantled by the Mississippi Bulldogs. Let’s jump right into the game recap. This was not Bazelak’s best game and this was not the best game plan defensively either. A lot of this does boil down to just not having bodies to execute.
8:12 - 18:00: While the regular season ended on a sour note, there is still optimism for the future, so Mizzou has that going for them, which is nice. Also, more notes from the game that tie into the future.
18:01 - 31:37: In every single loss, it kind of feels like Badie needing to be involved more is a common theme. Anything to that thought? Also, hopefully he will stay around because next year he will be a key contributor to the team. The BIGGEST bright spot from this game was Shawn Robinson. Let’s talk Shawn.
31:38 - END: Final thoughts AND if you remember 2012, the way this season kind of had a 2012 season vibe to it and if you remember, 2013 turned out to be a pretty darn good year. YAY for optimism!
