Welcome back to another episode of Dive Cuts with Sam Snelling and Matthew Harris! Mizzou won their first game in Nashville by beating Georgia, and lost their second to Arkansas, which wasn’t a big surprise. So the guys breakdown the SEC Tournament before shifting their focus to what everyone is looking at... The Big Dance.
Mizzou enters the NCAA Tournament as a 9 seed set to face Oklahoma (and likely Gonzaga if they make it to the next round). So, all in all, not a great draw for the Tigers, but they are in the Tournament! Sam and Matt break it all down and take a look at the tournament as a whole. Let’s dive in.
Also, in the spirit of March Madness, join our bracket challenge to compete within the Rock M Community.
Episode Breakdown:
:45 - 18:55: The SEC Tournament is over and Mizzou was bounced in their second game (against Arkansas). It went pretty much as expected and the state of Indiana is ready to rock and roll for March Madness, but first.... let’s recap the trip to Nashville.
18:56 - 53:40: Mizzou is heading to Indiana as a 9 seed, which is not where a lot of projections had them. Some people are upset, some think they got hosed, but the committee made some weird decisions. So let’s talk about all of that and it is A LOT.
53:51 - 73:00: So the actual matchup Mizzou has is against Oklahoma and that whole region of the bracket is looking pretty good for Gonzaga. Let’s talk Mizzou/OU and the rest of that region. (Spoiler — Gonzaga is really good and if Mizzou beats Oklahoma, that could be tough).
73:01 - END: Time to get out of here and in case Mizzou does advance, we will plan on seeing everyone on Tuesday next week instead of recording on Monday. So, until then, enjoy the madness, everyone. It’s been a long time coming.
